There are a lot of myths and misconceptions attached to the idea of vapes and E-cigarettes. These mistaken beliefs often confuse those people who are trying to quit smoking and are trying to find some safe and less risky health-wise alternates. The following are some common questions and their answers that many people ask or are confused about regarding vaping.
1) WHAT IS VAPING AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Vapes or E-cigarettes are basically battery-driven devices that are prescribed to heavy smokers as it helps in curbing tobacco addiction. Generally, a vape consists of a tank, a coil, and one E-liquid that is filled in the tank. The heating of the coil caused by the inhaling of the smoker vaporizes the liquid that results in the formation of an aerosol cloud which is inhaled back into the lungs and the smoker feels a “hit”. The greater the amount of nicotine present in the E-liquid, the greater is the intensity of the hit.
2) HOW IS SMOKING AND VAPING DIFFERENT?
Smoking and vaping are two entirely different concepts. The only thing similar in both is that the end product of both the things is Nicotine. But the source of nicotine in cigarettes is the burning of tobacco which is highly dangerous for the lungs and is the cause of many types of cancers. And in vapes, the nicotine is formed by the burning of the coil and vaporization of the E-liquid that has been proven to be less harmful to the body.
3) DOES VAPING REALLY HELP IN QUITTING SMOKING?
Yes. This is a fact and it is backed by scientific research. The replacement of the source of nicotine plays a huge part in helping chain-smokers quit smoking for good. The nicotine produced by tobacco is more addictive as it is produced in a greater quantity in cigarettes than in vapes or E-cigarettes. This helps the smoker to gradually and slowly curb the nicotine addiction and also helps greatly with nicotine withdrawal.
4) WHICH TYPE OF VAPE IS SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS?
The choice of vaping device for beginners narrows down on how much of a smoker the person is. If the person is a heavy smoker e.g smokes 10-20 cigarettes in a day, then a nicotine-strength of 18mg/ml is a suitable choice for him. But if the person is not a chain-smoker or a consistent smoker e.g smokes about 5-10 cigarettes a day, he is good to go with a nicotine strength of 3mg/ml.
